What area do you cover?

I am based in Royal Tunbridge Wells and work in surrounding areas. I occasionally work remotely, dependent on the project.

Can you work remotely?

Bespoke Design projects require regular attendance on site to ensure designs are being interpreted correctly, I like to be local to these projects so I can be responsive in case of design emergencies. Having said that, I have taken on projects slightly further afield in cases where the scope of work warrants it. My spatial planning service, Layout Unlocked can be done remotely if required.

Do you work on children’s rooms?

Yes! As a parent myself I know how important it is to have spaces that work well for children as well as their parents. Children’s spaces come with their own specific considerations and I love creating exciting solutions for them.

How do you charge for your services?

I charge a fixed fee for my services based on the amount of time I estimate it will take us to get to a design you love and that functions perfectly for your space. Unlike some other designers I don’t work with hourly rates because I know that having budget certainty is important. This way you know the cost for the design work upfront and can factor this cost into your budget planning from the start.

Do you pass on trade discounts to your clients?

Trade discounts are a perk of working with me on a bespoke design project, and we do pass these discounts on to full-service clients (plus a 15% handling fee).

What does the handling fee cover?

The 15% handling fee covers admin involved in sourcing, ordering, chasing, overseeing delivery and checking for damages. 15-20% is the industry standard.
